I have a friend trying to get his first passport. He's been trying to get it for three months, even though he paid the hefty fee to expedite the process. His application has been rejected twice by the State Department, the first time because they didn't approve of his photo, the second time because they didn't like his signature. This is the guy who cuts my hair; there is nothing terrorist-like about him. I hear stories like this often from friends and clients. We do still have free speech, and for that, I'm grateful. If you have a passport, do NOT let it expire! Allow lots of time to renew it. Hard times in the U.S. these days. Glad you're having fun! Everything changed after 9/11.
